Line of Tension

Line of Tension reflects on the growing divisions that shape contemporary societies and the global order. Political beliefs, gender relations, generational divides, and geopolitical interests increasingly appear to pull apart what was once perceived as connected.

The split in the wood becomes both separation and bond: the two sides move apart, yet remain part of the same form.

The shape evokes a leg and foot—a form associated with movement and the possibility of taking a step. The work asks what steps we choose to take, which ones we leave untaken, and whether movement across divisions is still possible.
