Andreas’s engagement with art began early. During his school years, he studied painting intensively with the established German artist and art educator Eduard Bufé (1898–1982). He intended to pursue art professionally and, in 1981, successfully passed the entrance examination for the Faculty of Art and Design at the Fachhochschule Köln (predecessor of Köln International School of Design).

Faced with the choice between art and engineering, he ultimately decided to study engineering and went on to build his professional career in that field. Visual art remained part of his life. He occasionally drew and devoted considerable time to photography.

In the early 2020s, he returned to painting with renewed intensity alongside his professional career. He attended the Freie Kunstschule Köln and continued his artistic training with Alexander Rudy in painting and drawing.

Today, Andreas works primarily in watercolor, acrylic and soft pastel. His subjects range from landscapes and plants to figures and portraits. His work moves between close observation and abstraction: some images retain a clearly defined structure, while in others forms dissolve into light, colour and atmosphere.

Andreas lives and works in the greater Düsseldorf area, Germany.
